START ‘EM Sit ‘EM Week 10
Welcome to Beast the Odds, back and better than ever with Start ‘EM Sit ‘EM Week 10 edition. The weeks continue to pass and the chances of making the Fantasy Football playoffs in your league are dwindling. Hard to believe it is mid-November and we have seen nearly 3 months of football played. This week the bye weeks continue, but they are not nearly as devastating as last week. Some key matchups have our attention as well as some want-to-be studs who appear to be ready to break out. Here are this week’s Start ‘EM Sit ‘EM picks.
WR Jordan Matthews, Philadelphia Eagles
Jordan Matthews has been a frustrating wide receiver this season. Matthews had a four week stint where he didn’t score more than 7 points. Then goes off for 16 and 10 points the following two weeks. This week the Atlanta Falcons are coming to town. While the Falcons are the talk of the NFC and are winning games, their defense continues to struggle to stop the passing game. Carson Wentz is looking to bounce back from a few lack luster performances and Matthews is his favorite target. Look for this game to be a shoot-out and for Matthews to benefit.
WR Mike Wallace, Baltimore Ravens
Mike Wallace had an explosive performance last week. Finishing the day with 4 catches, 124 yards and a Touchdown. The touchdown was a 95-yard catch and run that set record for longest play from scrimmage for the Baltimore Ravens. Wallace has been a boom or bust wide receiver this season but lately it has been more boom. Flacco is starting to look his way more and more, not just for the deep ball. This week the Ravens take on their division rival the Cleveland Browns. The Browns have been competitive in most games but struggle as the game wears on. Wallace and his speed will make for a few big plays in the second half tonight. Start him with confidence.
RB Chris Ivory, Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars backfield has been mind-bottling this season. Yes, mind-bottling. Ivory was signed by the Jaguars to be the lead back but suffered an illness early in the season that did not allow him to play. As he got back into the mix the team struggled to run the ball consistently and split the carrier between Ivory and Yeldon. Following this past week’s loss to the Chiefs it appears the team have decided to focus on the running game by feeding Ivory the ball. This week The Houston Texans come to town and without JJ Watt in the middle to slow him down, Ivory will have a big day.
RB Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears
Jordan Howard was the rookie, waiver wire darling in weeks four and five. The Chicago Bears appeared to have found the replacement for Matt Forte. However, in weeks six and seven Howard lost the job and was relegated to splitting carries. Prior to the bye week Howard got back on track with a near record setting performance against the stingy Minnesota Vikings defense. I do not see a repeat of that performance this week, however the Buccaneers defense is ranked 26th against the run. Howard is a must start. Enjoy the points!
WR Dez Bryant, Dallas Cowboys
RB LaGarrette Blount, New England Patriots
RB Isaiah Crowell, Cleveland Browns
