Welcome to Beast the Odds, back and better than ever with Start EM Sit EM Week 15. The Fantasy Football Playoffs continue this week. Last week we hit with Sanders and Crowell, both making significant impacts. We also called out the struggles of Robinson, Crabtree and Ajayi; all scored less than 5 fantasy points. This week we have all your playoffs needs covered. Also, keep in mind I am available 24 hours a day 7 days’ week on Twitter for all your questions. Let’s do this!
WR J.J. Nelson, Arizona Cardinals
Outside of Larry Fitzgerald the Arizona Cardinals wide receiver core has been a major disappointment when it comes to Fantasy Football. John Brown and Michael Floyd have been major disappointments based on projections. J.J. Nelson has been one bright spot outside of Fitzgerald. In the last two weeks Nelson has made the most of his opportunities.
The news this week of the Cardinals cutting Michael Floyd means more targets and touches for Nelson and given his speed and elusiveness, those touches will result in fantasy points. Keep an eye on his knee injury but if he goes he is a must start against a bad Saints secondary.
RB Jordan Howard, Chicago Bears
Yes, I am recommending you start a Chicago Bear in the Fantasy Football playoffs. Jordan Howard is getting most, if not all the touches in Chicago and has made the most of them recently. Jordan has averaged 16.5 fantasy points over his last 6 games. That is amazing. The Packers defense has been stout against the run in recent weeks, but do not let that deter you. Do not over think this one, get Howard in your line up this week.
WR Taylor Gabriel, Atlanta Falcons
Pretty certain no one saw Gabriel coming this season. This diminutive in stature wide receiver has set the league on fire over the last 6 weeks scoring 6 touchdowns. Boy do the Browns wish they would have held on to him, but that is a different story. This week the Atlanta Falcons are welcoming in the San Francisco 49ers who currently hold the 3rd to last passing defense in the league. There are also reports that Sanu and/or Jones could miss this week’s game. Both of those indicators point to a big game for Gabriel. I know you may be skeptical, but he is a must start if Sanu or Jones sit and a strong sleeper if they play.
QB Joe Flacco, Baltimore Ravens
Flacco? Yes Flacco. Joe Flacco has never been seen or respected as a top fantasy quarterback, and with good reason. Just when you think he is going to break out he lets you down. This week, particularly late this season is and will be different. Flacco has been a consistent stat sheet stuffer over the past 5 games averaging over 19 fantasy points per game.
The match up with the Eagles this weekend may scare you at first, but when you look deeper into the numbers the Eagles has been dreadful on the road. The Eagles defense has also fallen off big time in the last 4 weeks. Logging only 1 interception and allowing over 28 points per game. Start Flacco with confidence this weekend.
